The Teamsters Training and Development Department has scheduled a Teamsters Leadership Academy (TLA) on Negotiations for local union officers and business agents, July 15-17, 2008. This program is open to all local unions and will be held at Local 542 in San Diego, California. The three-day program will present a practical application of knowledge and skills in the area of collective bargaining. Before making travel arrangements, please contact Marie Nolan in the Training and Development Department at (202) 624-8965 to confirm space availability. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay for July 14-17. To make hotel and travel reservations, please call the Teamsters Travel Department at 1-800-IBTFLY1. To make reservations directly with the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, please call 619-224-1234. The room rate for a single or double room is $235. The deadline for hotel reservations is Monday, June 16. Travel arrangements should be made as soon as possible. Affiliates are responsible for the cost of their own transportation, lodging and meals. Lunch will be provided daily. There is a registration fee of $75 per person for this program. The registration deadline for the TLA is Wednesday, July 9.
