The Teamsters Training and Development Department has scheduled a Teamsters Leadership Academy (TLA) on Arbitration for local union officers and business agents, June 24-26, 2008. The program, hosted by Joint Council 3 in Denver, will educate participants on preparing for and presenting an arbitration case, including witness preparation and examination, case development and hearing conduct. Before making travel arrangements, please contact Marie Nolan in the Training and Development Department at (202) 624-8965 to confirm space availability. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Denver Marriott West Hotel. To make hotel and travel reservations, you can contact the Teamsters Travel Department at 1-800-IBTFLY1. To make reservations directly with the Denver Marriott West, please call (303) 279-9100. Hotel and flight reservations should be made as soon as possible. Please reserve your hotel room before May 23, 2008 to get the preferred Teamster rate of $179.00. Affiliates are responsible for the cost of their own transportation, lodging and meals not provided through the program. There is a registration fee of $75 per person for this program. The registration deadline for the TLA is June 16, 2008. Please make all checks payable to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
