The Teamsters Training and Development Department has scheduled a Teamsters Leadership Academy (TLA) on Negotiations for local union officers and business agents, June 3-5, 2008. This program is open to all local unions and will be held at Local 688 in St. Louis, Missouri. The three-day program will present practical application of knowledge and skills in the area of collective bargaining. Before making travel arrangements, please contact Marie Nolan in the Training and Development Department at (202) 624-8965 to confirm space availability. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express Riverport for June 2-5. To make hotel and travel reservations, please call the Teamsters Travel Department at 1-800-IBTFLY1. To make reservations directly with the Holiday Inn, please call 314-298-3400. The room rate for a single or double room is $129. The deadline for hotel reservations is Saturday, May 3, 2008. Travel arrangements should be made as soon as possible. Affiliates are responsible for the cost of their own transportation, lodging and meals. Lunch will be provided daily. There is a registration fee of $75 per person for this program. The registration deadline for the TLA is Thursday, May 22, 2008.
